Published: 13/11/2025

The Distance Learning Centre, together with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, announces that a new second-cycle degree programme – Applied Computer Science – is planned to be launched in the summer semester of 2026. The four-semester part-time programme will be conducted in English, in a hybrid form, remotely.

This is an offer for people who want to develop in the IT industry, gain future skills and work in an international environment. English-language studies are not only about learning – they are an investment in a global career. Thanks to them, graduates will gain an advantage on the labour market. The flexible education model will allow students to combine learning with work and other responsibilities.

The distance learning programme minimises the student's presence at the university to laboratory classes and examinations. Face-to-face consultations with lecturers provide additional support in the learning process.

The study programme has been developed with the real needs of students and the dynamically changing job market in mind. Employers are increasingly looking for specialists who not only know advanced IT technologies, but also know how to use them effectively in practice.

The new programme offers the opportunity to gain knowledge in areas such as data exploration and business process modelling, artificial intelligence and neural networks, software testing, and cybersecurity.

Graduates will be eligible for positions such as data analyst, AI/ML engineer, programmer, UX/UI specialist, database administrator, IT systems designer, and cybersecurity specialist.

The Distance Learning Centre invites those interested in this study programme to visit the website.

The new study programme is implemented as part of the university-wide OMNIS 2 project.
